Other B pipe with only 2 screws??

I just got a blaster limited pipe, the head pipe doesn't look like my superjet head pipe. There isn't a screw in the bottom and I'm only seeing 2 adjustments. I looked on FP's website and it makes no mention of a pipe with only 2 adjustment screws... wtf? Also what's up with the screw on the inside of the pipe?

There is a "regular" screw in the hole inside the headpipe that is just before the chamber. Its in a similar spot to the 3 adjustable screw that is missing. I've got my superjet setup with that being the only open screw, so i guess it could be ok...

I don't know if any Yamaha B pipes had only 2 screws, but if you notice, that pipe doesn't have a "B" on it. So I believe that is an older Kawi headpipe.

I took the "blaster" headpipe off the manifold and put my SJ headpipe on it and i can't see the difference in angles... I'm gonna be pissed if this doesn't work...

That's the A headpipe, just 2 adjustable screws and a fixed 3rd hole in the bottom that you could plug with a screw to adjust for more bottom end. I don't remember there being much else different.

I ran a Mariner Factory Pipe on my SXi with stainless chamber for a few years.

Nope, should work fine. In fact, some argue that the extra length of the headpipe adds just a little extra volume that could result in a bit more oomph....I say the gain, if any, would be negligible.

I would say though, these headpipes don't carry the same value as a B pipe, so if it wasn't advertised as such, you may be entitled to a little bit of compensation ($50?), if you can work that out with the seller....

I had a B pipe and a Mariner pipe. I sold the B pipe and am happily rocking the Mariner pipe. Ride it, love it... If someone says your pipe isn't genuine then grind off the Mariner writing and etch "My F-ing Pipe B-tch" instead and it will instantly be worth more than some printed "Factory B Pipe" writing...

Make sure you don't call it a "b-pipe" when talking to Cindy at FP...she will quickly correct you and say "there's no such thing as a b-pipe, there's a b-head pipe!" :smashfreakB:

So to set this "A" pipe up I should start with the screw pluging the bottom hole? I'm putting it in a blaster with stock everthing else and not super concerned about losing some top end
