IJSBA's take on video footage of the World Finals

Way to go Scott. That's definitely the way to spread the word about competition and get more people excited about competing:rolleyes: You suck and I will strongly reconsider my plans to compete in freestyle in the future.

God I hate lawyers with every bone in my body. I was sued once when I was younger and without a doubt would have won but I was forced to settle because I didn't have the money and time to fight. It's the only time in my adult life that I had to borrow money from my parents and I really really resent that. You've got me remembering what I went through and I'm all pissed off now. Between what I had to pay my own lawyer and what I paid to settle, I'd have a roundnose in the garage. Fauck all you scumbag lawyers.

I am suprised they are doing that
Its easy to understand why they are doing this but unless the guys are being paid for the performance i dont see how they can charge you to see it

I can see no good coming from this

well, added my 2 pennies to that one...

it seems to me that they have some fine print somewhere that riders sign stating they can exploit their image as they see fit..and well, the rest of it is in that thread...

if u didnt pay admission to the event you are free to use any pictures/video that u take with your own cameras as u see fit........ u cannot stop people from using images/video taken in an open forum for the purpose in which it sounds liek u are using them (ie// free display for all to see on a web site) the gray area comes in when u are using it for financial gain........ and to my knowledge that gray area has nothing to do with teh arena in which the footage was taken...... the gray area has to do wih the people filmed and there rights........ if the ijsba didnt charge to get in then its as good as a public park where u filmed some dude doin a roller blade trick

if videos are not allowed to be taken, wouldnt that be true for pictures also? they are the same thing just different formats. they let someone capture a moment from the event! i am seriously thinking about boycotting these competitions! CANT SOMEONE START AN ORGANIZATION THAT IS FREERIDING AND FREESTYLE ONLY!!!! it canbe for the riders by the riders. have a board of like 15 riders from all over the world to represent and start there.

What's really sad it there is not even 1 picture on ijsba's entire website from their biggest event of the year. And here we are 2 weeks later.

The whole thing is a load of horse sht. Scott Frazier is an arrogant, power hungry SOB. His interests do not lie with the sport, but with furthering his reputation as the head of the IJSBA and a lawyer. His insistance on how successful HE made world finals and how HE is the only one putting together an event with ANY industry sponsors made that painfully obvious.

My videos are still up.

what about people that live and boat on lake havasu every weekend because they live there? theyre not allowed to point their camares at the 'jet fleas'?

so does that mean all those videos superjett has of the world finals must be taken down 2? :bs2: :bs2: :bs2:

I've already e-mailed with Scott about those.

He says they are fine, as long as I can give some credit to the IJSBA (I'll rename the folder to IJSBA World Finals plus put a .txt file in there for credit) and any 2006 clips he'd like to see before hosting and to wait until at least March.

Honestly, that's fairly reasonable on some respects.

Also, I contacted Scott first about my videos just to see where I stand, he did not threaten me or anything close to that.

What a douche, this just goes to further the fall of the copetition end of our sport. We should just start our own organization and collect a purse to get the finals where we choose.

The IJSBa is going to kill the sport. Correction the life-sucking schiester lawyer is going to kill the sport the he professes to love so much.

What a ********stick. Nice work JERK.

please help me to understand.... does he have a problem with people shooting and posting their OWN vidoes?

or does he have a problem with the distribution of copyrighted material?
