Custom/Hybrid got a steal deal

bought a kawasaki 550 today with a 2 ski trailer for $190
the jet ski was said to not run and hasn't been messed with in 3 years
took it back home and took it off the trailer to start painting the trailer
put new spark plugs, gas, and spark plug boots on it and it fired right up
how do these things ride? ive never rode one but it doesn't hurt to have a back up ski

The trailer is worth that much.

Was it a 550sx or js550? That can easily be answered if you could tell us what year the ski is.

But yes, you got a great deal. I get in trouble when I run into this great deals because the garage space is what suffers and I have all these toys I never end up using.

pretty sure its a js550
1984 with side exhaust and everything
the guy that i bought it from said he wasnt sure if it ever ran
i looked at it and you can tell that it has really low hours
barley and scratches on the bottom or carbon on the pistons

Congrats! The 550 is a blast to ride as a ski just to mess around on, they can get shaky on top end speeds but that can also make them challenging. Get a few bolt ons for that thing and you'll have a pretty rippin back up ski.

Well if your coming from a superfreak im ganna say it will be a big difference

Thats like going from a Ferrari to an old Datsun pickup

But ya they are still alot of fun to ride

Rode it for about 5 hours straight yesterday It's way fun to mess around on but it's pretty shaky And I haven't got the superfreak yet it's being built todayAll I've rode so far is superjets so this was a little differentIt would be way fun with some bottom end power

The 550s are great you can really toss them around relative to a SJ. I had a 550 for a couple years before getting an SJ and it was like stepping up to a yacht.
