Hi guys
Im trying to assemble a lenzi carbon hull, the engine is setback around 2 inches so i have you get a shorter driveshaft. The first option that came to my mind is buy one from Chris @ JM, but the shipping to Denmarks dosent come for free. So im thinking is it possible to get a machinist to cut down and reweld the stock driveshaft thoese 2 inches that it need to be shortned?
I guess it cannot be cut and re spline, as the driveshaft that fits into the midshaft is cone shaped?
Thanks :)

We had shortened a SXR Driveshaft for a Hullproject years ago with a sleeve outside.
I can make it for you for exchange of you OEM shaft if it 100% in straight axle.

Okai that would be nice. How do you get the shaft shorter? Ive just done some messuarement, it has to be 3.5-4cm shorter than a stock superjet RN driveshaft.
Allso the midshaft needs to be 2.5cm shorter. can you allso shorten this? :)

Monday im back from kiteholiday. Then i have to look but i think for 2,5cm its enought to use ADA couplers and shorten this.

Can you give me clearance from crankshaft to midshaft without couplers??
Shorten the midshaft is not possiple i think.

For our stroker66e/951seadoo projekt we needed a shorter midshaft. Tryed some different shafts, FX1to i thing. But no fits. The splenes inside shaft were not on the right place on shorter shafts.......

Hi Andy
Ive just measured the driveshaft, and engine coupler to bulkhead.
IMG_1818.jpg
On the stock hull, the driveshaft reaches ca. 5cm out from the deepest point (4.5 cm from the surface where the midshaft housing meets the bulkhead)

IMG_1822.jpg

On the Lenzi hull its around 9.3cm out from the deepest point, around 9cm where the midshaft meets the bulkhead.

IMG_1820.jpg
Here on the lenzi i got 13cm from the engine coupler end to the bulkhead.

IMG_1821.jpg

Stock hull bulkhead to engine coupler says 15cm

So i guess this means i need a driveshaft thats 4.5cm shorter than a stock OEM superjet RN driveshaft?
And a midshaft thats 2 cm shorter than stock OEM RN Superjet ?

Thanks Christian
