Super Jet HELP!!! - Water in cylinder

guys give me some direction,
I was out at pismo and kept getting water in my cylinders.

Ski info:
62t/62t raider motor
ADA head
Factory B pipe with 61x manifold.

This my 3rd ride on this motor, was honed with no top end from art at jetworks (suppose formerly of jetworks).
I've replaced the O-rings on the head,
I get even compression, only showing 150/cylinder thought it should be higher but could be a result of cheap gauge.

Motor runs strong dry, put it in the water and kit bogs and dies at about the time it would take water to get through the cooling system and into the motor.
We pulled the head at pismo and saw evidence of water on the cylinder sleeve.

Point me in the right direction. I have a hard time believing it's a head/warped cylinder issue if compression is even.

What else could/would cause this???

Punctured water passages in the cylinder or exhaust manifold.
I think the head or cylinder being warped is more likely.
Maybe you got one of those fake ADA heads that don't work.

Is the bilge dry?

can't answer the bilge question accurately, i have a trim tube that isn't completely sealed so water flows some what freely into the engine bay.

if the cylinder was warped or head was bad, wouldn't i see something in the compression?

If it's bad enough to show on a compression test, your motor would have a lot more water in it than what you described.
A little leak wouldn't necessarily show up on a compression test.

Also, the exhaust manifold gasket is a very likely candidate.
Where did you get your ADA head? Is this the first time you used it?

That would be a solution only if your problem is a warped cylinder top.

So i need to find something with a true straight edge to see if i have any high/low spots on the cylinder.

other potential areas i should check?

Did you install the right exhaust gasket? 62t is very different then the 61x 701

Fairly confident it's a 61x gasket, which came with the manifold.
however i didn't have this issue on the first 2 trips unless the gasket got fried somewhere and allowing water to flow where it shouldn't.

Ok, you said you had a 62t/62t motor which means you needed a 62t exhaust gasket . The 61x gasket may of lasted a ride or two but would of gave out soon enough. I compared the two before and the exhaust shape is a bit different.

ok that honestly makes the most sense so far. sadly it also means the most amount of work. oh well. What's the life of a skier without a wrench in one hand!

If your ski is letting a bunch of water in, you might be spinning it up with your coupler and allowing it to be sucked in to the carbs.

I do that sometimes.
