Other helicoil questions

I was aggressive and drilled and tapped a pump insert from M10 to M12. Believe it or not there was enough material to make it successful. However, I failed to do enough research for my new pump bolt and it is impossible to find a M12 x 1.25 in stainless. At this point I don't care if it's a hex head or socket cap but I can't find either in stainless...only chitty zinc and the like. If I was patient I could have just helicoiled it and been done (aggggggggggggh!!!!!). My questions are:

1. Is it possible to "repitch" the freshly tapped insert with a same sized tap (M12) but different pitch (1.75 from 1.25)?

2. My drilled hole size was 27/64" which correlates to 10.7mm. The recommended drill size for a M10 helicoil is 10.5mm. Think I could get lucky and throw a M10 helicoil in there now?

3. Would a standard size helicoil be a better option? The recommended drill size is 29/64" for a 7/16 x 14 helicoil. Would this be a better choice instead of the metric option?

4. Cut that biatch outta there and glass a whole new insert in place?

I agree, but was trying to save from cutting the damn hull and doing glass work. I originally thought the insert was pulled loose...turned out to be jacked threads. My hastey decision is fubar'ing me on this one.

Put another stock insert in and stop the madness!

What's the pitch of the M10 bolt? If it's the same as the M12 you tapped it for, I'd say try the helical, pitches might be the same and it just needs to cut a little extra metal...
