That just what the IJSBA Rule book says.........
It is not enforced, but could be.............. I know of several riders running wammer hulls and WCF hulls......... ever wonder why Pat Bogart was on a stock hull at National and WF's instead of either his Wammer Hull or his WCF hull......... He did not want to give anybody any reason to protest him.......... He came to win............ even his motor was legal 783cc's.......

But, like I said, many of the rules are not upheld.........

The only thing i would change is just no A/M hulls in AM....keep it under 800ccs and keep the hull OEM...

One big change I'd like to see is to eliminate any kind of hull requirements for pro's. I just don't see the point in having to keep with the current guidelines of length, width, and profile.

You just want to BR and flip the 3D.

Bring the glory days back! I missed it and now am in a position to do something . . .

I personally don't care to see any hood tricks, but I do recognize that they do take tons of practice. I do like a crazy-deep-where-did-he-go? subs though.

I'd love to live where there is more activity in this sport. There are only 7 or 8 dedicated riders that I know of here . . .

That is a damn impressive performance on a stock hull!!!! Did the guy who got 1st have a oem hull, or A/M? Could Pat have protested if he was running a A/M? I think that Amerature rules need to be cleared up!:cool2:

Its crazy that everyone thinks pro class should be run what you brung, yet there are still vague rules that limit hull/motor configureations. There realy should be no rules for pro class, if you can run a Malone boat, you should be able to run anything that can be created.

I dont think Pat would do that, for the same reason that none of us have against a few that have been using them........... It is the rider that does the tricks, the hull just goes along with them.

Freestyle has become a BF and BR fest. I'm not sure why the judges are not penalizing riders for repeating the same trick over and over. Yes, flat water BF's are cool but they won't be for long if that is the only trick being done. Freestyle needs to be judged by style, degree of difficulty, amplitude and variety. FMX is getting ruined in the same way, which is why I don't watch it anymore

And a flatwater BF isn't difficult?

It won't turn into a BR and Backflip fest, the sport will evolve further from there.

he is saying that each trick should have a degree of difficulty.......... like say a barrell roll would be an 8 out of 10.......... Rider "A" does a Roll and pulls it off clean.......gets an 8

Rider "B" does a one handed roll that has a degree 9 out of 10........... does it perfectly and gets a 9

But Rider "C" goes for a nohanded roll that is a possible 10/10 but has to grab the bars......... he gets and 8 out of 10............. counts against him.....

Oh and the tricks arent easier and you can't go bigger with a lightweight hull compared to a OEM??!?!
Please BK!:fingersx:

hmmmmmmmmmm

Lightweight hull with a ported 701 @81mm bore with Pipe and Stock Carbs
vs.
OEM Hull with a Lamey PV motor cranking out 783cc and Dual Team Scream 44's B Pipe and Total Loss.....

Which Boat is going to go bigger?????

Ive ridden a non ported light weight hull. A limited setup in a sub- 60 lb hull, and I would take that over a Lamey PV. Some might call me stupid, Personal Opinion. They new light weight hulls out there are a WORLD of difference from the older 85 lb wammer type stock hulls.

I'm now set on my next major mod being a light hull before a huge motor.

You completely misread my post. I didn't say anything about the difficulty of flatwater BF's. FYI Freestyle has already become a BR and BF fest. Go look at Malones WF run. the whole run consisted of 6 backflips 3 barrel rolls and an around the world. You can't have a sport with 3 tricks. In most successful sports, repeating a trick over and over in a routine will cost you points. Malone has far more tricks up his sleeve than that. In the last couple years, the top pros at the WF's have been basically doing nothing but BR's. Now it's BF's. This issue comes down to scoring. People will innovate when they know they will be penalized for being overly repetitive. If you repeat a trick the score you get for that trick should be less for every time you do it. This forces you to come up with other tricks in your routine. That's what makes for more entertaining freestyle. This also gives amatures and potential amatures some motivation to compete and some tricks to shoot for.

Im seeing more and more of these kind of posts! BK...Maybe you should try a light weight hull for yourself! If you think that Stoker motor makes a huge difference in a stock hull over a limited motor, Imagine what that motor would feel like in a Boat that weighed 40lbs less then stock:bigeyes: I cant wait for the day I have a light weight hull!!!!!!!

So, I should get an aftermarket hull and compete and do so being illegal.........

What is the point of that..........

I have ridden a few lightweight hulls......... Did not make me ride any better....

I have tried and tried to get the powers at be to come up with some type of system for scoring. I even sent them a system to use that would take into consideration number of tricks, difficulty, and mistakes.

Basically when you go to a competition they say we are breaking for lunch and by the way "does anyone want to judge freestyle."
