Surfriding gulf coast

are there any good spots on the gulf within a hour drive from tampa florida that normally gets some good surf? i know i wont huge surf on the gulf side of the state but theres got to be a place that atleast gets waist high waves atleast

i live in plant city and cant really afford to drive to daytona every weekend so just looking for something alil closer to home

We ride dunedin causeway (about an hour away) most weekends. we look forward to storms, cold fronts and hurricanes that come up the gulf or better yet turn towards mexico/ texas (sorry guys) . our wave days are few and far between. We do not get ground swell very often but we do get some. Week befor last we had waste high ground swell. study the wind patterns and fronts are your best bet. Good luck..

About 6 inches..... but if you watch the weather you can get some good slop a few times a year. I hear Dunedin is where all the cool people ride (but I would not know anymore)
