Winterization questions

Basically, add some stabil to the fuel, and fire it up, run it on the hose for a couple minutes to get the stabilized fuel in the carbs. Un hook the hose and blow the crap out out of the engine. Then fog it with fogging oil through the carberator(s). Put a couple drops of mystery oil down the cylinders and turn it over by hand.
Then put some red pop through the cooling system.
Pull the battery and bring it inside, and leave the hood cracked to prevent condensation.
That'll cover you pretty good.

OR

Bring the ski inside.

if your storing it in a heated place, no need for red pop. I dont use sta-bil, I think its silly.

red pop? wtf. It will be in the garage sometime, or in the house. We just need to figure that out still. Probably gonna fold up the ping pong table and put them in there.

Red pop is anti-freeze, the pink stuff. Its easy to pour some in there, do it just to be safe, unless your garage is heated.

buy a battery tender trickle charger for your batteries and keep em in a heated place off cement charging all winter or atleast every few months, I love Battery Tender. I always use RV antifreeze just a few pours in the main cooling lines is peace of mind, maybe a lil splash in the bottom when I miss the hose. Why not use stabil and keep the gas in the tank, or if ya got time pull the tank and throw it in your car, but run it through the carb.

Here's the correct procedure for winterising your ski.


1- wash ski
2- fill up fuel tank
3- send ski to me where I will take care of it for the entire winter in sunny SWFL.
4- no need for 4.

#3 applies to anyone with a light hull/big motor beast. I don't charge a penny.

never bother with stabiliser myself. Its only maybe 4 months.
