im not an ass, im just being truthful, and really think that his design could suck in some serious amounts of water and be VERY harmful to his ski. I do NOT want to see this guys ski go down if he puts hard work into it, because of the pvc scoops.

A hole is a hole.
Doesn't matter if it is scoped down or at the top of the hood when the ski is upside down, The ONLY deciding factor is if the inner tube goes down towards the engine floor, because that is what inverts the waterline above the float point.

Not the way I would improve the SN vent, but I'm not going to be an a$$ and make fun of a guy for trying something new. Sorry Ice, but I know my sh$t stinks.

hey man, if you can get it to work without sucking in a ton of water, Ill eat my words, but just remember, no matter what way a hole points, water seeks its own level, so it will fill if theres a chance. and kawi is still much better, hands down. and I do have an sj anyway :p

How would a pvc pipe be any different than an aftermarket hood with the air intakes at the rear of the hood?

ah crap, i thought that said on top of the hood. my misunderstanding. the PVC is not the problem, the location and direction of the PVC is, the way he has it, water will flow into that hood like its nobodys business. However, if they are facing backwards, they can still suck PLENTY of air, and not get 'drowned out.' Filling in the vents on squarenose hoods is for that reason, to not suck in water. putting pvc up there like that.... is trouble, nd I do not want to see this guys ski sink. Im not knocking trying new things, but this is going in the wrong direction. I admit, I totally have been an A-hole about it, I have no excuses other than just said what was on my mind, cuz I really dont want to see this ski go down, or take in immense amounts of water after alot of hard work, when he could do it differently. Creativity is never a problem with me.... but that setup can just be a bad thing. even yamaslut said it, not just me. I was just a dk about it.

I have done mod my self and dont see it work and those 3" elbow will be in the way for a hood trick or a transition from tray to hood. But i'm not an expert on freestyle I just ride and see where it could hurt physicly.

This reminds me....a friend of mine & Phill's recently started modding a Squarenose hood.
He started by removing the liner - of course.
Instead of just glassing over the top intakes, he cut them out and then glassed that shut.
He took those cut-out vents and put them into the back part of the hood and glassed them in there. Looks very sano - just like it's supposed to be there.

i would love to see a pic of this...

Wow, if that would of happened to my ski or one of my buddy's then it would have taken quite some time for someone to dish out the money for a new hood and tool box.

Have any recent pics of the hood and nose or did u scratch the hood idea?

I saw the hood today. Great work! Ice Ice Baby is going to look like an ass.

Also, I feel honored to own the broken throttle return spring. I'll add it to my broken parts trophy box if you don't want it back. you should hang is on your wall or somthing...
