anyone that tries to claim their prop/pump/grate/cone/gyroscopicrotatorplate combo hooks up as well as a mag pump is only fooling themselves. big power motors are only as good as therir ability to efficiently translate that power into thrust.

with a mag pump, everything changes.

Getting a mag pump was the single best performance upgrade I made to my setup. I couldn't go back.

I think it's good but I personally wouldn't go that far. Not sure I'd call it the best bang for the buck either. I primarily ride flatwater so whitewash isn't as big of a concern for me.

I think I should have bolded "my setup".

Here are the details: I had Art build me a big bore motor, on pump gas compression, with an MSD Enhancer.
A year later I bought an ATP Flame total loss, went to higher compression, and had Art update the porting to account for those two. Performance was increased some medium amount. Then I bought a 140 mag pump.
With that addition, the ski hit drastically better everywhere in the power band and and had noticeably increased top speed. Acceleration got downright violent. The performance gained with the addition of the mag pump well exceeded what I gained from just the ignition and higher compression.

I can't comment on what a mag pump would do for anyone else. I had expected better hookup and better white water performance. The increased acceleration and speed were not expected, but more than welcome. I think it tied all the other performance upgrades nicely together and put the power to the water.
I would go as far as saying that the gains are most noticeable in flatwater, not in whitewash.

I bought mine used for $1k, but had to put another $500 into it for bearings, impeller, and some work. I think Jetmaniac would be an excellent source, as well as Impros.

I will agree on every point made so far about the Mag pump. I recently pulled my Mag and it feels like I lost 20hp. On the flipside, my ski slides out much better now than it did before and is alot more fun to ride.
