yes its true that seadoos have valve failures, oil lines fall off and cylinders crack on kawis sometimes too.

Yes you are probably the type of person who has ridden a "special" sj.

so you want to tell me that people are coming to their senses and leaving their sj behind to ride kawis? or is the brainwashing soo good that it doesnt happen?

there is a reason that the sj is a better platform for surf and freestyle than any kawi, and sadly you just dont get it. lucky for you cause that leaves all those kawis available for you.

Now can someone bill me in on the big differences between the square nose and round nose superjets? I know the years they were produced and that one has a 650 vs 701cc motor. Where lower hulls the same? carbs? pumps etc? I see what seems to be alot of swapping between these two usually taking from a round nose and putting into a square nose.

lots of info out there (search/read)... GENERALLY speaking:

First, most go from SN to RN. Pumps are the same all years. Bottom deck is basically the same all years (except 08-11).
90-93 = SN, 650 (50 HP)
94-95 = SN, 61x/61X Single Carb 701 (63 HP)
96-07 = RN, 61x/62T Dual Carb 701 (75 HP?)
98-11 = "New" RN Hull, 61x/62T Dual Carb 701 (75 HP?) - Has setback pump

Anything else you need to know WFO will provide unbiased answers to your superjet questions. Because he is always so helpful. :bad3:

well ill have to say ive owned my sj since summer of 96 right off the show room floor, the only thing ive ever had to do to mine is replace the starter bendix, and now just withing the last month the starter, now if that dont tell u something i dont know what will, my cousins had kawis= lots of hrs wrenching, and more mulah on parts repairing theme

If that's the case you aren't riding hard enough :) I break something about every time I ride. Not motor related, yamahas are practically bulletproof, but I break everything else.

I will tell you one thing I for one can't wait to ride this magical Superjet that is going to change everything I thought I knew about standup watercraft, who owns this unicorn, what state is in it, will it be at a freeride near me, I want to reach a state of enlightenment like everyone else here has, I feel the man is holding me down and I have been oppressed by not being allowed to ride this life changing machine and reach my own Epiphany of utter bliss. :pancake:

Kawasaki - 300, 440, 500, 650sx, 750sx/sxi/sxi pro, 800 SXR

Yamaha - 650 SN SJ, 701 SN SJ, 701 RN SJ, 701 RN SJ 2008 style

Kawasaki has 6 different stand up models. Cut out the similarities and you can say they have 5 vastly different skis.

Yamaha has 4 different stand up models (and claiming 4 is a far reach). Cut out the similarities, and really they have only the 1 style ski.

The difference b/t Kawi and Yamaha is that Yamaha does the job right the first time while the engineers at Kawi let you do the testing on your dollar, then they change their design the next year. Want to argue otherwise? Explain the retarded ass hood on the X2 compared to the blaster.
