Super Jet Loctite # 609 for crank bearing retention

Was taking with an engine builder that recommends formula 609 to prevent the crank bearings from moving on the locating pins and creating wear on the lower case; mostly in the center where a groove will form. Anybody use red loctite because I heard another builder uses regular loctite...This 609 formula seems to be special order and it not available at Napa or auto parts stores. Just wondering because i have red loctite gel and want to secure these ported cases...wondering if red loctite has too much property for the application ?

I have used regular red locktite on crank bearings for years, you want to apply a very thin (PINK ) film on the entire outer race of the bearings.

good to know, what do you think about using the red locite gel ?

Found out XScream uses threebond 1333b a drop each side of the pins and smeared upward each direction in the case...

Loctite 609 is green and close to 271 red in strength. The thicker 515-518 is better suited for case halves.

WOW, learn something new every day. I have never used anything on them. Assembling a motor this week so will have to give the loctite a try.
