Super Jet Stator Grounding Issue? Need Advice... ASAP!

Hey,

Alright, so I got the ski fired and it ran for a few minutes... I was feeling good, finally started, and sounded awesome.

Walked away for about 5 minutes, came back and pressed the start button... got nothing. No clicks, no pops, no nothing.

I found the problem, and it looks like the ground from my stator sucks. But, here's a question for you...

Is there alternative way to ground this safely? I just put the motor back together, and I'd rather not take it all back apart, pull the flywheel, and the stator again to replace the faulty ground...

My home away from home.
I ran my battery ground and black stator ground to a front cover bolt and have never had a problem. Cut into the black wire from stator and attach both ends to the most convenient front cover bolt and do the same with your neg battery cable. Others may chime in, but mine has worked flawlessly after doing this, due to the same problem you have. I can get ya a pic if needed.

I just decided to pull the damn thing and send it out to JSS... If this wire broke, the odds are I'm going to have one of the other 4 break on me sooner than later, and I figure I might as well do it right, rather than risk getting stranded on the water.

Thanks though...

couldnt you just do a cable from anywhere on the motor to the backside(aluminium part) of the ebox.
not cutting in to any cable just a new cable from engine to ebox

of course , that would work just fine, if indeed we are talking about grounding stator to ebox. retroicon may need a ground cable from bat. to engine

Nah, it was the stator ground, not the starter ground...

I thought about going to the e-box, but just decided to bulletproof this thing as much as I can. I ride salt 95% of the time, so I'm not taking any chances.
