Super Jet Weird, weird issue with my ski, any ideas?

Buckwild12

I'm moved by DASA power!
Went out to ride the ski yesterday, go to start the engine and 2 problems immediately are evident, first issue, my gas tank was way lower than i left it, at first i thought i had a hole in the gas tank, then i found out that the engine was full of the missing gasoline, I am told by a buddy that it may be a leaking needle and seat? It was rather temperate when we were riding last weekend and this week we have seen 100 degree temps, did the gas tank pressurize and push gas into the motor? Secondly the I pulled the plugs to get the gas out of the motor like it gets flooded with water. And the starter gets hung up cranking, no lanyard in the ski, doesn't matter, stop button pushed still doesn't stop. So I have to remove the battery terminal to get it to stop. Figured I was ok then, wrong. Now every time I attempt to reconnect the cables the ski cranks. I am at a loss any ideas? I have never done anything carb related, and have no idea what to maybe look for, this is a new one on me. Any ideas? I have shut off the fuel supply at the petcock to stop any further drainage into the motor.

you need to remember to turn your petcock off with low pop off this can happen thats why i dont like running fuel lines straight from tank to carbs sounds like you welded the contacts on the relay you will need a new relay

how do you run your fuel lines, if not straight to the carb?

i dont use a petcock myself and have had a similar problem last weekend. i noticed my primer was just flowing fuel in my carbs and stopped when i relieved the pressure in the tank. the ski was running horrible. i unhooked my primmer and it ran like it use to.

from tank to petcock from petcock to carbs this way you you can turn fuel off and you also have reserve i know alot people like running from tank to carbs but this is the way i like to run them

If you don't have a fuel selector, you might consider removing the check valve at the tank and drilling a small hole right through the innards. That will stop that nonsense.

how small of a hole do you mean. basically its building up too much pressure? i didnt have this problem until i replaced the old gasket on my fuel cap(the old one leaked fuel). i assume my problem with the primer flowing on it own would still happen with a fuel selector because its all ways open till you turn it off manually. my primer is on my "on" pickup and my carbs run off the "reserve".

im not sure what kind of setup you have.are we talking about your superfreak?if so do you have an aftermarket tank?cart tank or something?are you in salt all the time?the relay is stuck on your starter and you need to add a gas tank vent line like in a stock superjet.that would assure you're not dealing with a pressure system.kinda like a gas can thats been left out in the sun for an hour.its gonna swell up like a basketball if its not vented.

the vent is on the check valve line. im sure he has a check valve and not just a sealed tank.

should be venting then.id blow through it and make sure its clear.unhook your fuel lines and put the end of em in a cup and see if it still does it.just a suggestion.hope this helps.
unhook em from the carb

the point of the check valce is to build pressure in the tank
it lets air into the tank to keep it from collapsing as fuel is removed
notice the pssst hen you loosen the gas cap
if you bypass the fuel selector, install a ful cutoff switch
