Other Done for a While

As some of you know I broke my foot on April 15th skiing. My left foot stayed locked in the foothold and the ski slid out from underneath me. My foot ended up rotating into the side of the tray and broke from the impact. I thought that it wasn't a big deal I would be out for 4-6 weeks and then back on the water. I was wrong! After meeting with my doctor he sent me to an orthopedist. On April 20th I met with the orthopedist he took a look at the X-ray and immediately said that I have a Jones fracture. That's when I knew I was in trouble. We scheduled the surgery on April 28th and they ended up putting a screw in my foot. Now I am out at least until August and that is me being hopeful because this break supposedly takes forever to heal.

What do you mean? I'm just talking about enclosed foot holds in general really. The exact reason I hate hate hate them

Enclosed footholds are exactly what l mean! l didn't know the BOB's were like WDK's! l had basically the same set up on my rok hull and changed them.l already went thru an acl problem.

I bought a set of footholds from the ski clinic and they were almost identical to the revs. Had to cut off like 1/2 of em to get them to my likeing. But that can happen in any footholds if you pad em snug enough.

ah yeah. terrible. i rode the ROK with the similar style too when i gave that ride report. thats basically why i didnt roll or flip... flip would have been ok with the holds but it felt like it was gonna over rotate and i couldnt lock in. roll was out of the question, ive gone from rolling in holds to now surf stance and im NOT looking back.... smacked knees, landing 3/4 and my knee twisting from catching the water.... so looking down now questioning rolling on someones ski and seeing enclosures.....NOOO way.

yeah i finially got to see a set of REVS and i stood there in horror...... like..... why.... why was that even designed.... lol blew my mind.

true a snug non enclosed hold could be hard to get out but atleast there is still a chance ya know. you could come out, unlike enclosures where... well, your dead.

l am sorry that you fractured your foot man.Sucks right at the beginning of the season.Good luck on your recovery.Hornedogg on here got slammed by a bass boat about a week ago with several injuries and killed his newly built ski.You guys are lucky cause you all are young.Recovery time is minimal considering your age.

Basically my theory on footholds. You can't lock in unless you really cram your foot in mine since l redid them.Several guys have rode the rok and said they were a little loose. But l can't afford to hurt myself enough to put me out of work all summer.lt's the whole self employment gig!

The boat I was riding was my gen 2 with the adjustable holds which IMO are really nice. My problem is that I like them really tight and I think that's why I couldn't get out. Once I get better I won't hesitate to do a little adjustment and ride again with those footholds. Personally, I think you take a risk using any type of foothold or strap ot anything that could possibly locked you foot in. The part of the foot I broke is real weak and it does not take much to break it.
