Hi, I've ADA girdled head on my engine and wondered when do I have to re torque the head bolts. I've read somewhere that we need to check and re torque regularly but don't know how often?
You can check it as often as you like but unlikely to find much change as everything is metal to metal except the base gasket. Its the stock fiber head and pipe gasket that need a re-torque after a good heat soak because they do crush.
i checked mine after few rides after install ...with no torque change and havent touch it for a year now with zero problems. you can check then as often as u want braapp
me and many others use .15 psi on head bolts and .21 on griddle nuts. its a little more than ada calls for but for good reason. go to .7 and .10 first then sung them up to .15 and .21 using the proper torquing pattern both times.
