Ok I got the X2 out and had a friggin blast on it today but the ride was cut short due to some fuel delivery issues. Matt and I are going to get those ironed out today. Anyway while I was riding it I noticed that it does not get me out of the hole as fast as I would like it to. What can I do to get more bottom end on it? More top speed would be sweet as well but I'm more interested in freestyle than going fast.

its been awile since ive riden a 650 x2 but a prop is always a good start a 15 or a 15.5 seems to work well in them for starters if you can find a good second hand one , pipes do help a fair bit as well ffp pipe is the one to get if you can find one but an old pjs or coffmans pipe work really well indeed. get your factory head machined to up the compression 170 is a nice safe number and it is pretty cheap to do as well . there is so much you can do to the x2 just wot the wallet allows , im sure matt will be able to help you out and point you in the right direction

It would help to know whats done, and the year. The older ones had a stock 28mm carb, ditch that for a 38, 42, or 44. Then try to find a pipe. Search on the "other site" if not banned.

I was told by the guy that I bought it from that it was completely stock, I am "kinda" banned" however suva has a westcoast pipe that he is going to sell me. I plan on having Matt help me port it. I was planning on doing the heads this winter while I have the motor out anyway. I was also thinking of a skat trak swirl impeller (crab's suggestion). Is there any specific brand of carbs to go with? and I would assume the larger the better?

44 mikuni, they are easy to find and work well. There are a couple manifolds on ebay now. Get an SJ flame arrestor, they work the best to keep water out, I am very happy with my Coffmans pipe, but others will work also. Carefull on the porting, don't raise the ports. If you ditch the stock waterbox, rubber mounts, and rubber nose trim, you will lose a lot of nose weight. A lightweight aluminum waterbox is the ticket, removing weight is cheaper than building HP. That Swirl won't work until you get enough power to push it, and a bigger nozzle with a cone. If you want some low snap for now, find a 14.5 or 15 skat. They will make a stock boat jump.

I'll probably get the carb this winter when one comes up cheap on ebay. As for the flame arrestor I have no idea how to do that or even what it is (yeah I'm that dumb:biggthumpup: ). I'm guessing that Matt will know and be able to help with it. As far as porting Matt has done the ports on his SJ and is going to do it to his wife's this winter and said that he would do it to mine as well. If I raise the ports then I gain top end but lose a lot of bottom end correct? It doesn't matter anyway because I'm not that into going fast as I am in tons of bottom end power. I doubt that I will drop the clams for a new skat impellar until I have the hp to merrit the first one that you suggested. I'll keep the weight idea in mind. Plus it makes it easier to carry the ski up the bank when it breaks down. Had that lovely experience yesterday, that's ok probably won't be the last.

yeah we have carried skis up that thing the past two times that we have ridden there, no fun. Though I'd rather carry an X2 than a SJ, easier to carry and lighter.

get a freestyle cone, it's noticeable and only 50bux, and you know you're gonna hafta get one eventually:biggthumpup:

The Wetwolf cone is a simple bolt on takes ten minutes or so. Bruce is up here in spokane so if you go to newman you can usually get bruce to meet at the lake. Search it up a bit there are several reviews on PWCT
