I have been playing racquetball for over 20+ years now and love the competition and exercise you get out of it. Anybody else play here and at what level?

I'm currently at above average A player looking to step up to open soon.

I've been playing for as long as I can remember, but not in the past 3 or so years. Trying to get back into it now. I know this is an old thread, but I figured nobody chimed in, so I would :) It's my second favorite sport.

Hell yeah!! It's my favorite sport although it's not very popular (especially here! lol) I play A's-and open division . the challenge is amazing and the workout is awesome!
The bad part is that I'm 44 and my body is not as tough as it use to be. This weekend, I twisted my knee pretty good while I was doing a quick change in direction

I leased my apartment just because it is the only one with a free court :)
The problem is it is almost impossible to find someone challenging to play with regularly. The court is guaranteed to be empty any time, day or night. I might be the only one that actually uses it. Most of the people I play with I actually taught, so I'm not really being pushed lately.
31 here, I'm not really feeling any negative affects, other than the awesome workout part. I like it because it takes so much thinking and anticipating (much like another sport we all love so much). I've kinda been concentrating on some weird shots and kills because I can't get really aggressive with the people I play with, they aren't at that level yet. I've been playing since I was 13. For such a fun sport, it is sooooo obscure. Everyone I have introduced to it love it and are surprised they don't hear more about it.

I've been playing since I was 19 and have played a few tournaments in the past. I'm a member of LA fitness and each locations have 5 courts with a glass backwall. Their usually not much competition (a's and above) but on saturday we have a few open players show up and the competition is crazy with a little audience in the back. after 3 games, I'm ready to fall on my face! lol

Yup, it a winter sport for me. I started out with handball when I was 8-9 yrs old (I'm 45 now) with my Dad at the 'Knights of Columbus'. We didn't have alot of money, all you needed was cheap gloves, a ball and a wall. Then racquetball came about and my Dad and brothers jumped into that. Pretty experienced, played a few tournament aprox a decade ago. I hadn't played in 2 season since I broke my ankle jetskiing although I'll always play. I have a few sports that I won't quit due to the higher experience level that I acquired through the years, RB is one of them...., and jetskiing, of course!

I just started again in January and boy do I suck!! I joined a gym that has courts so I figured what the hell. My wife and I play and we spend most of the time laughing when we are not trying to avoid injuring each other. It's a lot of fun. We're playing tonight as a matter of fact

am old too! lol and I love beating up on the younger guys...I guess that's what playing for 25 years will do for ya!! :)

I play pretty often, it's one of the best cardio workouts with all the directional changes, sprinting, etc. The only thing I will say about playing in this area is theres a HUGE gap between an A player and a B player, is that similar to anyone else's leagues?

I just picked up a new HEAD racquet... the Black Jack. I would recommend it. I was playing with a Pro Kennex Quad... way different. Better balance, great front and back control. Now if I could just use it better. :fingersx:

j/k!! Its a great competitive fun workout. I'm a strong "B" player. Just got done playing in the "A" league at our local gym and realized how bad I suck. Playing sponsored semi pros wore me out.

I play a little. Never played in a league, just against friends that i've taught how to play. I enjoy it for the same reasons ya'll do, the compeditiveness etc. I'm 33, and 165 so i've never done well at basketball or football. But I enjoy the day when I play against a 6'2 270lb line backer lookin guy and stomp him LOL.

I started playing against my wife. We had no idea what we were doing LMAO, we just made up rules until we learned what they are. I still don't know everything but I have fun and get a little cardio in twice a week.
