Super Jet 04 superjet, my first build (need guidance)

Got the motor pulled out, as far as ordering a lightened flywheel how do I know if I have a 61x or 62t? Also trying to figure out how to disconnect the 4 wires in my pole, I thought there would be a quick disconnect?

I plan on doing the following

9/15 hooker impeller
Ordered WDK footholds but changed my mind and want to go with the tom21 footholds
85mm bored nozzle
Lightened flywheel
201 worx intake grate
ADA head
Flame arrestors
Reinforce hull
B-pipe
New grips
Turf + rails
Paint
Maybe have pole shortened if I can find someone to do it?

Any tips or advice would be appreciated, I feel like im in over my head so hopefully you guys can help me out if I get in a jam. Heres some pics...

shortening the pole is easier than reinforcing and a walk in the park compared to turfiing.

Start/stop switch unplugs near the e-box (two - 2 wire connectors).

unless you find a good deal on a used aftermarket lightened flywheel, i would just send my stocker to pro-tec, or someone else to have it lightened for $85.

shortening a stock handlepole is pretty simple. you can do it yourself, just do a search and find a how to thread.

Little update decided to shorten my pole -3.5 thanks to nickt916. I am a bit worried about shortening my pole because I am 6'2" and it already seems short to me and hurts my lower back. I started on it last night, dunno if I will have time to get back to it today, but it was pretty simple. I went out and bought a dremel for like $65 and went to town, it was definately a bit messy lol safety glasses or googles is a must. Heres a couple pics so far...

I am 6'3" and have a junk back. I run my shortened OEM pole at -4 and have UMI steering with a shortened blowsion turn plate. I run a spring....that saves my back.

I would look into a aftermarket quick steer of some sort. Look at X metal or some of the other ones out there.
Other than that I would say your list looks great! You are definitely heading down the right track.

What spring do you have? and I dont see how a spring helps at all, what is its purpose?

The spring makes it feel like the pole is lighter, i set mine up so its weight less, just floats right where i like it.
if i could make a suggestion scrap the lightened flywheel, post a WTB for a port kit that that and your cylinders to a machine shop and they will charge about $100, way better gains over a flywheel

What setup do you have on your pole to make it weight less? Isnt that hard on the pole when you eat it and the pole stays up and takes a beating?

Well I dont know too much about motors, maybe if someone helped me out. How much is a port kit? and if im going to do all that I might aswell add on the lightened flywheel for another $100 right?

I picked up a kit for $50, if your installing a head you are already removing the bolts that hold the cylinders to the cases and should replace the gasket, so you really arnt going in to the motor anymore then you already are, I was shocked how much of a difference the porting made, adds about as much as a b-pipe I would say.
Your stuck on that lighted flywheel eh? Lol get a TBM flywheel they are expensive but that's what I would do, I'm sure lots of guys will argue that bit of advise bit it's IMO. Don't paint you ski to off set the cost if cost is a big deal... But I'm the guy that would ride a k-car with a viper motor in it lol

Finally found some time to finish up my pole, all shortened up and came out great. It is rock solid, JB weld and all bolted up. =)

Still lots to do, footholds should be here next week and maybe I will attempt swaping out the impeller..

Ok I got my old impeller off with ease surprisingly, big cresent wrench with a 5 foot pipe did the trick, no heat required =) I was really sweating this job seeing all the people having trouble getting the old impeller off but mine came off with ease. Check out my new bling...
