Installing Waterbox Important Tip

When you are installing a waterbox that you got off a good friend (thanks Pete ) and it's been sitting outside for a while in N.H. woods make sure you check for mice living inside of it .

I installed a waterbox Pete gave me and fired up my motor with my new head and waterbox and I notice some straw stuff coming out the exhaust .
I think WTF did a bird make a nest in there while I was riding my Blaster ?? I shut it down and shine a flashlight inside there and can't see through the smoke so I decide to fire her up again and give it a real good braapp to blow it out .
I did this and a baby mouse comes flying out the back so I give it a couple of more good braaps and now there are 3 mice on my floor in the featl position and one is like 10 ft away .

LMFAO now and call Pete and tell him and we both get a real good chuckle .
Mama mouse climbed out of the waterbox before install and is loose in my garage now too .


Quick question does anyone know if there is enough stuff in there if any damage could occur or does anyone have a cut in half view of a square nose waterbox .How do the baffles run in those waterboxes .

What kind of water box is it? I have the factory pipe water box on my square nose and it has no baffles at all. Even if you have baffles I doubt very seriously that mice could damage anything in there.

It's a stock sqaure nose box :bigeyes: I had the factory pipe one in there but it has a crack and I'm trying to get it welded

when i blew my stock waterbox in my square earlier this year i got another one from mike (mile9c1) thanx still buddy. anyway i got ready to install it and it was rattling??wtf?:dunno: tipped it over and sunflower seed shells came out??? wtf??? :dunno: needless to say some squirells made it home for some time...it took almost an hour to get all the seeds and acorns :bigeyes: out of the thing.

Uh, are the baffles in the stock waterboxes the same fiberglass/plastic like stuff as the outside? I had some mice chew straight through the nose on my sqaure last year. They will chew through whatever they need to to make a house.
