Front Exhaust install

It's me again :frown: . Got a tee and front exhaust outlet. Gonna put dual exhaust on my 99 SJ. Have no idea what i'm doing though. Would love opinions, PHOTOS, and helpful hints anyone may have. Also, where do you get the "budget" 2" hose for this project. (and how long should it be?). Thanks again

Get a hose from any automotive parts shop. It's flex radiator or flex exhaust hose. Get it long enoug! You can always cut.

You'll want to place the exhaust far enough up front to clear the waterbox.
Measure 5x times before you cut. Cut a small hole, and grind it/dremel it bigger slowly.
Use screws or rivets and plenty of sealant (I used 5200 quick cure).
Installing the hoses and the Tee and the waterbox all at the same time is a major pain in the ass, but I think that's unavoidable.

How's it supposed to look when it's in there? The "T" goes on the exit side of the waterbox correct. Think i got it then. Just newvous i guess. LOL Can i remove the foam from the front and trash it to have more room?

hijacking thread, but when you run front exhaust do you completely block off the stock rear exit or is the front only used when there is too much block off on the rear due to tailstand etc, any pics?

from wamiltons. the T is really an elbow so that most the exhaust flows out the rear automatically. but when the rear gets pressurized it just goes out the front. since every one usually has a regular T it kinda flows equal out of both the front and back until one gets plugged up like in a tail stand .

what i don't get is why every one runs their exhaust out of the left side. i would think it would be easier to run it on the right since it would be a smaller hose.

some guys just run a single front so they can have 2 scuppers in the back.

yea that blows. the hose is 22 bucks from napa as i discovered from above. a rod holder is like what 40 bucks max. and the T is cheap. no way id pay 90 bucks for a T. id rather pay some one to weld an outlet on my waterbox.

Is that the Wamiltons elbow? That is one crappy looking piece welds look like poop. I know it is unseen but damn I could not put that on my ski.

Why not? I'm sure it would work just fine.
