2007 kawasaki sxr

the guys at the local dealer were looking at a site in portugese about kawi's 2007 line that included a 4 stroke transverse engine, putting out some ungodly amount of horsepower:scared: . same as the 2006 sxr, including graphix, except the words vx r were on the lower hull. anybody heard anything?

i just called a buddy at riva, they were specifically talking today about the 07 models.

he said the 4 stroke supercharged 3 seater is out but with a different hull more for the rec crowd.

the 4 stroke sxr is not coming out this year according to him, we'll see soon enough. if it is coming out i am sure it will be at WF's.

That's the artist's concept of what it would be like, based on a patent application for the engine.

thanx for the links guys:biggrin: those japanese guys that hold the patents mentioned above, i assume they do not belong to any of the big ski makers? so does kawasaki and hydrospace pay them royalties to release their products stateside?

no he did not, so it is safe to say they don't know anything on that either.

i doubt that will come out, that is even more of a specialized boat then the sxr.

it should come out here it would give me some people to race with in sport class:biggthumpup: . i bet it could be competitive with the right rider. i practice with some guys on some very fast corner hugging ss sxr's

Check this out:
[0048] The engine E is constructed such that a crankshaft 13 extends along the longitudinal direction of the body 1 substantially at the center position in the longitudinal direction of the body 1, preferably at a slightly forward position. In this embodiment, a rear end of the engine E is located slightly rearward relative to a middle position of the total length of the body 1. In this embodiment, the engine E is a four-cycle inline four-cylinder engine.

Wouldn't that mean straight 4 instead of v4? With even a short stroke, that thing would make big torque and rev like crazy.

Yes they definitely need the X-2 in the US. They already make them here. Just slip a few on the back door :sneaky:

they're made here and sent over there, that's kinda silly. that means it should be cheaper here, cause the japanese, europeans or austrailians have to pay the unit cost, exchange rate and shipping, (and any government tarrifs imposed on import). thats just crazy, they must have a factory over there.
regardless they need to sell them here :bigok: :bigok: :bigok:

Another silly thing is that the parts are made in Japan(except hulls), assembled over here(Linclon, NE and motor assy. in MO.), and then the X-2 is shipped back to Japan for sale... DUMB!!!!!! :banghead:
