Just picked up my 1st Superjet... well two actually!

no never owned those but I talked to him a few times, not sure if i ever saw them in the water, he was riding his sxr mainly. I think he bought them without knowing how to get them running right, wasnt one of them a stroker?

I'm not sure exactly whats done to them. The black one has a 61x in it with forged ProX pistons and Greater Yami head. The guy I bought them from printed off a couple of emails from the original owner/builder. It did not mention anything about being stroked but I do believe both are ported. I'm trying to get in contact with the original owner to see what he can tell me about them.

You've been busy, nice to see they fell into good hands. What did you end up paying for them? I won't say what he was asking just in case you don't want anyone to know. Sometimes hard to sell for market value when you get a smokin deal such as that and everyone knows!! Anyways congrats, they look great!

I thought 10 cases of beer sounded like a pretty fair deal :shhh:

My starter for the 701 should be here tomorrow. I was looking at it tonight and am thinking pulling the motor looks easier than dealing with the Riva pipe and worrying about gaskets. Any feedback on this?

Is it normal for a weak starter to be able to run the motor over quickly with the plugs out, but struggle to barley turn it over with the plugs in? I tired jumping the negative battery to a case bolt and that did not help with the issue. I had no way of getting to the positive terminal on the starter to jump it.

Yes, that would be normal. The motor is much easier to turn over without the plugs.

The timing keys for the 650 came on friday. I put it back together and it fired right up. Managed to get about 1.5 hours on the ski this weekend and it ran flawless.

You guys have any tricks to keep your feet warm when riding in cold water? I have an old school wetsuit that i was wearing and it kept my body warm enough but my feet kept getting cold. Water temp was ~ 44 degress air temp was about 60.

Get yourself some neoprene socks. I bought mine at a sporting goods store, in the hunting department (for duck hunting)

I forgot all about this tread. Its funny reading back through my questions and realizing how much I've learned in the one year I've been in the stand up game. Both these skis are long gone, as well as 7 other SN's I've owned in the last year! One year, 9 skis, and three pieced together motors and I'll be starting my 5mm stroker carbon BOB build in about two weeks! Have to love progression!
