Does anyone insure their ski's?

Just wondering if anyone insured their ski's. I don't plan on insuring mine, but what does everyone else do that has a ton of money in their ski's? Insurance would have definitely helped Skywalker. Sorry for bringin that up Luke. Once again the best of luck to you.

WOuld insurance pay off on a sunken ski? Or would you have to claim it stolen? ... I wonder.

No ski insurance here.

I insure mine. It would cost WAY too much to replace what I have in it. If you think what you have in at retail prices it's easy to get pretty costly. I built up all my stuff over time with used and cheap parts, but it would be difficult to find all of that stuff in a hurry if it was stolen or sunk. I had to send pics and a description to get it insured for more than NADA book.

Mine are insured, was primarily for the drive to Georgia (X-h2o Freeride). Have an '05 SJ and '95 blaster. Aftermarket prices are increasing, FPP, MSD, Advent, etc. so being new it is worth it... might drop to liability after a year or two.

I should insure mine for stupidity.

However, I do not insure the stand up for anything. I am the only one that rides it, plus insuarance is more than the ski is worth. So, not worth it in my opinion.

For the couch, which other people ride besides myself, I have it insured under Boat US for liability, theft, vandelism, damage repair over 1k, that in my opinion is worth it on an expensive ski.

yep full on mine. I rather pay a little once a year then god forbid i hit someone or thing and have to pay them a crap load all at once. Also worth a couple hundred a year to get a few grand back if my ski is stolen or what not.

i've always had them insured
sorta foolish not to, it's cheap, and you never know what can happen
people are just to happy to sue over any chance they can get

i've had 2 close calls, was lucky with the turn out, so paying the insurance to me is worth it

I don't have any any coverage on my '93 SN. Washington does not require it. I feel my ski with all the work done is worth around $2,000. My agent told me replacement value was like $400, at which point it seemed a little silly to start writing him premium checks. As far as liablity goes, let's just say it's not worth your time to sue me.
If the ski was worth a little more, and I was worth a little more, it would definitely be insured. My $.02
