I am not sure exactly what the final set compression is yet that he set it at. When we talked about it we were going to put it in the 210 psi range. I am using klotz benol it mixes great with it.

Sounds about right. Last I heard, E85 should be roughly 105 octane give or take a little depending on the blend. I would love to have an engine that runs on e85 but I'm afraid to pull that trigger since I know if I ran out of fuel, I'd be SOL. Right now I can bum a little fuel off someone to get me back to my house. It goes the other way too if someone needs some of my fuel. One day I'll rig my ski up with a bigger tank and/or a reserve line and it might be a little easier to pull off. Right now, I'm just guessing my fuel level which sucks.

I am really interested how injection works on a freestyle ski. Nobody does it. Maybe you are up to something there, but to be honest everybody (builders too) use carbs for their freestyle motors - can you elaborate??

With the MRD injection system, they will load up the engine with too much fuel in a freestyle setup. You need to understand that this system is MECHANICAL injection, not electronic fuel injection.
This is why we don't use them, also the problem they aren't being manufactured and MRD has been out of business for a very LONG time.
In a freeride application just maybe, with some careful throttle control and some very delicate tuning.
The other problem as they are, they're way too low in the engine bay and suck water in the engine very easy.
I'm sure it can be done, but all your doing is making it harder to work well in a freestyle application.
Spend the $$ and time on building the engine with more cc's.
There's no substitute for CC's
Gary Lamb Racing is one of the best at setting up the MRD system for standups and X-2's.

I dont think it would be worth it for freestyle either, but freeride would be be cool,I was going to try mine for ocean riding, but I lost motivation on setting fabbing up some intake risers after I found a real good deal on a 2 part boyeseen intake, twin 550s and a one way valve would help also.
Mrd is still around,he is doing mainly motox stuff now, buddy of mine knew him so I sent him my unit back and he rebuilt it and the fuel pump, along with new pop off valves. Mine is a 50 mill for 62t and is basically brand new with matching f/a id sell it to someone with the motovation to make it work, even before I took it off the same stroker motor I run now it would spin the :):):):) out of the same prop thats in it now with carbs hooking up fine.
