You need a KTM to offset the water riding.

Worked for Katie and I.

Mark44

Sold the XR250............ Was not using it.

I got 2 Mountain Bikes that I get plenty of riding on (Well, not as much as I would like). I ride them usually twice a week, once if I go skiing on saturday or sunday.

I hate riding by myself. The few times a year that I do it, I get bored within a half hour max and pack up.

15 minutes and I am usually done!!!!!!!!!!! Unless I take a cruise up the lake, but I am kinda leary of doing that on my SJ. Dont like the idea of something going wrong and being stuck with 2 - 2" holes in the hull (Scuppers). I use to take the SXR for long rides alone. But that is only so much fun. Actually when I was racing I would ride WOT for about 15 minutes one direction, then come back the same. Good endurance training.

If you can move by good surf i highly recommend it. I have about 20 riding buddies within an hour drive. 5-10 within 30 mins. And this is only after being here a year. Moved from DC to try out beach living. Thanks to this site I found the majority of my riding buddies. Life is good! Supposedly I've been told I live right by one of the best breaks in FL. According to the Georgia boys who make the trek down here every weekend. My hats off to them...they are hardcore dedicated to drive 2-2.5 hrs each way. I don't think I would do it.

BK, I completely understand where you are at. I was big into skidooing in the mountains for several years but could care less if i ever do it again. I love to ride but if I can't, it's no big deal either. I have plenty of other interests and always like to experience new things.

Whenever we make a big trip down to ride in Florida, I try to do something else with it. When we rode with Parr, we went for an airboat ride the next day. We plan to hit the Kennedy space center the next time down that far. We have also hit the Space center in Alabama, Cirque du Soleil in Jacksonville, Alligator Adventure in North Myrtle...and numerous other adventures cronicled on my facebook page for friends and family back in Canada.

Life is short, experience as much as you can. I have done the 200 mile "Trek over the Top" in Alasaka and ridden Hurricane Bill in Florida. I have walked on the Ocean floor in the Bay of Fundy and surfed off Huntington Pier. I have loved and I have lost and found love again...and I am just getting started. :bigok:

I crave adventure and I love variety. The boys get on me for owning such a sweet ski and not riding more but I ride enough to stay interested and not burn out.

Boyer, you need to write a romance novel!!!!!

I was thinking Adventure series not Romance, lol.

Always loved Clive Cussler myself. Actually got to meet world renowned underwater archaelogist, adventurer, Dr E. Lee Spence last summer.

Having the Florida crew here last month got me energized. I really want to do some surf riding but it's looking like Daytona is going to be my soonest option. Everybody is between skis right now and working on projects. My wife was all over me saying I have had 7 hulls this year. I know I have a problem, but it's fun and I'm getting better and better skis and my skills are getting better and better too. I can't wait to ride with the Florida crew again.

You need to figure out a way to get your family involved in rides too. Bring them here and we will run the wakeboard boat pulling the kids while we hit the wake at the closest safe distance. Everybody has fun and we float around and talk almost as much as we ride. We have a great time almost every weekend.

I raced MX for 30 something years? I love me some fo-fiddy action. I can't find anything that pulls harder than a 450 doing a 3rd gear holeshot w/a stage 1 Hotcam and yosh exhaust. I miss riding but do not miss all the bs that goes with it. I agree with this outlook. Variety is the key!

I started reading and collecting since grade 7 and have every book every authored/co-authored. Dirk is my favourite as well but the Kurt Austin series is good too.

The Wrecker was an unexpected good read.

I've read tons of them but they do get repetitive. There is definitely a "formula" that he uses for every book.

That's why "the wrecker" was so refreshing. It's unlike any of his previous books. It's more along the lines of a sherlock holmes story. Very good read.
