Other Ok, so who is using a "Turbulator Vortex ring" ?!?! :D

GASKETS FOR CHAMP BRAP!
Fact or fiction? :reporter:

I saw these at Parker Yamaha and I noticed they sell them over @ the EME website.. Reminds of the ones for auto carburetors.

"Fixed-vane vortex design turns your intake manifold into a more efficient mixing chamber. Design helps eliminate heavy droplets of fuel, fuel stacking and fuel puddling, resulting in the elimination of load and dive spots and increased performance. More complete atomization may also increases fuel mileage and eliminates standoff."

I use electrolysis to seperate the lake water I ride in to derive Hydrogen which is routed into the carb so that I have no use for gas. The nozzle injecting the Hyrdrogen into the carb also has an inlet that I pump Slick 50 with Teflon through to provide the needed lubrication. When I ride in salt water, there is a pretzel chamber used to collect the salt which is deposited on the pretzels for a nice snack after the ride. Being that I'm not always hungry, I'll sometimes sell the hot pretzels and actually make a profit.

I've been using one of those dyson bladeless fans as a flame arrestor adapter/supercharger with great results.

only Chuck Norris can divide by zero. Do the designers (i say this because they certainly aren't engineers) realize that the air has the least velocity near the walls of a pipe and therefore any mixing of the air is minimized due to low velocities. The only thing it could do is cause boundary turbulence which reduces the pipe friction and increases velocity but it doesn't look like it was designed to impart turbulence, just swirl. I did not learn how much a vortex increases pipe velocity but it certainly can't be that much. I wonder how much their ceramic muffler bearings are going for.

since i've started using one i don't need to clean my drawers as often.kinda spreads the stuff around in thinner layer.

i have used a similar thing called the tornado with great results. i have gained 2-3 miles to the gallon consistently. i drive 120 miles a day for work so i have had plenty of test time over the past few years.

Popular mechanics tested it on a Dyno ( http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/alternative-fuel/gas-mileage/1802932 ) and the results were:

THE DYNO SAYS: Both devices reduced peak horsepower by more than 10 percent. The Intake Twister increased fuel consumption by about 20 percent; the TornadoFuelSaver provided no significant change.

Lower horsepower with either the same fuel consumption or worse.

"peak" horsepower was not a concern. i was very skeptical myself after reading reviews but it was a gift so i figured what the hell ill try it out. i put it in and took it out several times testing my mpg. im not going to argue the fact because i dont really care and im not trying to sell you the product. i was simply stating i have had great results with it.

note: i used this in conjunction with a k&n intake

Tzane, did you use that on a carb or a throttle body FI?

throttle body, i put the tornado right before the throttle body. i did not see any gains with it down by the filter. this was in a v6 mustang, manual trans, with 200k+ on the dash. i was averaging 32 "interstate" miles to the gallon. now in the city i could easily get 12 mpg. its all about how you drive it. when my girl friend drove it i had to fill it up all the time because she just sucked at life.

i also had it in accord vtec and did not see much improvement, but i wouldn't say it hurt it either. side note, this car was not set up for "good" gas mileage. it pulled mid 13's in the 1/4... not bad for a power everything, leather, comfortable ride. (sold due to licence suspension lol)
