I am getting ready to assemble an engine and found a tube of Yamabond 4 in my toolbox that I used on the last one (probably exactly a year ago). On the tube it says "use within one year of opening", if feels soft and pliable inside the tube but the stuff in the end nozzle has solidified. Should I use it or toss it and go buy another tube?

it is a sealant. if it comes out of the tube still moist and usable then use it. if its hard and not usable, then just buy a new tube. not like you need a chemical engineer to tell you that

I cut the corner off the bottom of the tube, it looked and felt just like it always does so I used it. I think the last time I used it was August last year because I didn't get my ski done till after our ride, I feel confident that it will do its job.

ive been using the same tube for the last 3 years on 5 different motors. No issues.

i've used stuff that was going on 15years with no ill affect.
some silicones will not solidify if too old but never had that issues with kawi, yami or 3bond.
if it flows,it goes.
