Yamaha heat sensor... DISCONNECT?

SO before I start cutting and splicing...... whats the TIP to disconnecting the stock heat sensor on a 701 ? Thanks

I just cut it and dipped the wire end in liquid electrical tape several times.

It would be best to disconnect from inside the box and pull the sensor but I just cut the wires a few inches before they enter the box. You should stagger them a lilttle to avoid an activation. I have mine taped right now but I think the proper way would be to dip the ends as stated before and heatshink them.
