While I'm at it, I'd like to get some thoughts on options for an upcoming hull kit for 2010. Would you want an all inclusive kit with everything (EXCEPT CHEMICALS) needed for assembly, or a basic kit leaving the builder to do it their own way?
THANKS AGAIN!

Kurt , i think their will be an increased interest in boats in kit form . It's about the only way most of us can afford a lighter / stronger hull . IMO most would like all the hull parts and just do the assembly. Their seems to be many hidden costs in the few kits available . The educated consumer should want to know to the dollar what they will have in a hull ; as well as , the confidence that the quality of the lay up is solid . My 2 cents worth .

I agree with every part of this. I'll add this though... I think a hardware kit would be very beneficial to both the buyer and the seller. Most of us can glue parts together and drill holes where they need to go but very few of us have installed inserts. Although it may be simple, it's an uncertainty and I would rather spend an extra $50-$100 for the correct inserts instead of guessing. My fear would be to install something and have it pull out of the hull because I did it wrong. If you aren't willing to sell the hardware kits, at least provide a link or something to where the individual parts can be bought and a quick instructional on how to install them.

I'll use the footstrap inserts as an example... They're $40 plus shipping for 4 pads that stick to the hull and get glassed down. The same things can be had for pennies on the dollar but those are easier to purchase and simpler so we're willing to shell out the extra money.
