technically speaking, is the dual breather setup on an xmetal pole adequate to supply enough air for a single 48mm carb with a hood with NO breather tubes cut into the liner?

brraap....thats so 2002
try it, i would think on the first sub you did the liner would get sucked out of your hood

had that happen with my first Wammer Hood with the single carb, did not have a pole breather at the time............ can we say lots of cracks.

There's a BIG difference between no breather tube, and DUAL breather tubes.

not when you still have a hood that is suppose to breath on its own also!!!!!! Defective hood, did not have enough volume in the liner to let it breathe!!!!!!!!!!!
Wammer Warrantied it even though it I had bought it used.

Big props to WAM for warranty on that hood even tho' BK was not the original owner. I've seen a few of the early hoods (various makers) crack like that.

You could try, taping off the hood hoses,
put the hood on without being latched,
Start it and see if it sucks the hood down when you hit the throttle.

Just a thought.

Theres approx 55mm of free air space in the pole tubes.

I've never tested it, but believe you can have much smaller tubes in the hood
with the dual breather setup.

just my .02

FWIW my ported roundnose (OEM 38s) revs out really well & I have the front air intakes plugged; the AMW pole seems to add plenty of air w/just the rear hood breather holes.

I don't know about NO hood breathers though....
