650/X-2 X2 Trim

I'm gonna put a trim system on my 650, and was wondering: A-does the X2 trim just bolt on (aside from trim level and cables, etc.)? And B-how effective is it, as in, do you get a good amount of deflection from an X2 trim setup?

X2 and SX nozzles simply bolt onto the 650 pump. However, the intermediate nozzle that creates the trim lengthens the complete setup. This extends the mounting point for the steering further from the hull, making the need for the cable to be longer. I do not know if a SX cables will work with a X2 nozzle, but I do know I put a SX nozzle on my X2 and had to make a bracket to accomidate for the longer X2 cable.

You can get a good amount of trim from it. The X2 uses a very short cable that will not go anywhere near your handle bars. You cannot use the X2 steering cable, and if you choose to use the X2 trim cable, you are going to need to have a second cable that goes from the bars to about the fuel tank to connect to the X2 trim cable.

Hope that helps.

Oh, look at post 162 of my build thread...

I put an aftermarket 650sx nozzle on my X2. The difference in the aftermaket SX nozzle is in the diameter and the length of the nozzle, but the steering location is the same as the stock SX. You would have to do the same thing I did, but mounted in the opposite direction, as well as doing something for the trim. Also, my aftermarket nozzle has 2 mouting location for the steering for adjustable throw. The stock nozzle will not have 2 places to bolt on a bracket like mine does. You will only be able to hold on a bracket with one screw.
