300/440/550 x2 sucked water

im new to x2 experiences ! how long does it take to run strong again after you get water in it ''the carbs'' ? took on water today ! then i took it home after 15 minutes of running poorly ? its tough getting on an x2 when its missing badly ! i thought it would clear out in 15 minutes of time ??

Selling all X2 and 650 parts - message me!
You should have brought the ski to dry land, and used the crankcase drain (if it is installed) or crank the engine over with the plugs out. That should have taken care of most of the water. Then run the ski, it should clear up. Prof

Take WD40 with you when you go. when your ski gets swamped take out your plugs and crank it a time or two, spray the cylnders w/ WD40 and crank again. Let it sit for a minute or two it should not take much time. Then fire it up and get back out there.

The one other tip that I would give you about the X2 is to instal a bilge pump or two. You'll be thankful. Mine used to take on tons of water.

stock 650s and 750s have a drain. since they suck ass, i always remove them then tap the holes and 1211 a couple bolts in.

you definately want to get the thing started on land and maybe a new set of plugs. then take it for a nice, long, high-rpm ride.

if you got water in your fuel tank, you will continue to have problems.

I am amazed the X2 hood allows in as much water as it does, even when your not under water.

Bring that X2 up to Erie this weekend, we'll get it up and running. I want to see that 750 bring the X2 hull ot life:Banane09:

THANKS LOTS OF GOOD SUGESTIONS I WILL USE , I HAVE ONE PUMP , GOING FOR 2 NOW , AND WILL PUT SOME WD40 ON BOARD '' SMALL CAN '' , GOING TO PUT THAT WATER SOCK BACK ON THE FLAME ARRESTER , NOW IF I CAN FIND THE DRAIN ILL CHECK IT OUT !:arms:

I removed my crankcase drain on my other Kawie 650's. I wouldn't use that drain either! It will probably start leaking and then cause a lean condition!

They are right about the water in the gas tank though. Drain it all out and put it in a clear container. If there is water, it will settle on the bottom after a few days.

What you need to do it remove that water seperator and just put a short fuel line and a check valve on there. That will keep the water out of your tank.

I had a bilge pump hose rub against an exhaust pipe once. Well it filled the engine compartment with burnt plastic smoke. Needles to say the ski didn't run so great on the smoke. But once you got moving a little faster, I guess more fresh air got in there because it would run a little better. Oh well that ski died eventually anyways....

yea i had a plug in my exhaust come undone. it was leaking exhaust into the engine and was wondering why she was running like crap. went through rimming the spark plug wires and stuff and still didn't help until i found the plug in the bilge.
