650/X-2 x2 issue

Hello everyone (new guy) so i was at the lake today and was running the new x2 and was runnin awesome for about 20 min, all of a sudden it bogged down and died, i t took me a bit to get back on to start but fired up fine, problem was no power or response, it had barely enough at half throttle to pull me into shore, i pulled on shore opened cover n had some water i dumped the hull out and started again and water was coming from the water box hoses, i checked water box no hole covered one hole blew in the other no leaks "if that works" and emptied waterbox out, started again and it had throttle response and sounded good . the hoses were butter soft and had a couple splits inside so im replacing them now, but is there anything else i should check or would a full water box (or why it would get that way) be enough to bog it out.? how often do they go bad? or could it be another reason on top of bad hoses that it filled with water? would a flush run help to test it or should i be in the lake. sorry for so many questions but im not totally in the jet ski loop with moderate mechanical skills. thx guys

if you had water in your hull and ur hoses were leaking theres a good chance the exhaust snubbed the motor out....does it run good without the hood on?
