X2 Intake grate

I have a 9/15 prop now but I have always thought it should have an intake grate other than open style. I’ve read scoop grates can pull out. Is this true?

Common sense, don’t beach it. Maybe shallow surf ridding and foolish care is reason for the post I’ve read about grate pulling out.

The one recommended above. I should mention the area of the grate that bolts to the pump shoe needs ground out to allow plate to sit flush. If you install rear single bolt the front grate will leave a gap of About 3/16” i ground this area out so there was no stress starting out on those bolts. I might have that photo on different iPad. I would retake a photo but the grate is at the bottom of the lake.

That sucks. I never had one rip out but also used silicon them in also. I'm guess you just got that grate only had it on for a short period of time?
