X2 been sitting for a while, where to start?

i have this x2 that has been sitting for quite some time. there is old fuel in the tank still, whats the best way to get the fuel out. i dont want to take the tank out. i took the domes off to check the cylinders, i have a new gasket coming. there is a fair amout of rust in the cylinders anything i can to to lube/clean it up? i took the crab off because there is rust and other build up inside the carb, carb is stock. trying to locate a mint 44 with adapter, and domes one spark plug hole on mine is a little stripped. and help would be great and ido have kawa 800 parts to trade plus money from purchaser.

With rust in the cylinders and carb I would be willing to bet the crank is rusty as well. At a minimum I would remove the cylinders and hone them. If they are pitted than you will need them bored and new pistons and rings installed. Also, removing an x2 fuel tank is pretty easy. There is no other way to clean it thoroughly without taking it out.

okay there is surface rust in the pistons, no pitting. I really don't wanna take the hole thing apart. I really wanna ride it lol. Im not sure if you can see in the photos tell me what to think. i can get better photos soon.

There is no way I would try to clean up the cylinders and run that. Even if you get it running it won't last long. It may be cheaper to find someone here with a clean long block and good carb. I can almost guarantee that crank is a goner.

hahaha thanks I know how these things go, currently building a 1100 sxr. just wanna go out for a rip lol

The best way to drain a tank is to block the on line an the vent line with the gas cap on. Place the reserve line in a gas can on the ground lower than the tank. I change the reserve line to a longer one i keep for this job. Blow into the return line which will push fuel into the reserve line and start a siphon. Come back in 5 minutes and itll be done.

The best way to clean a tank is to take it out, slosh a little fuel around and pour it out. For really dirty tanks, you can use a degreaser and water, just let it dry really good before you use it.

Wether you have an 1100 or otherwise, the x2 fuel tank takes about 2 minutes to remove. Asking for help while saying you dont want to put the effort to even a small amount of work is asinine.

I ended up just puling the tank. everything is back together. I put a new headgasket in and cleaned the carb. i hooked it up to water to make sure I had good flow. and the back cylinder filled up with water, the gasket it on right. the bolts are tight as licorice... any ideas.

and yes that was pretty dumb of me to say.

Was the engine running when you were flowing the water.
