The tubes only extend a few inches up the pole with the tubes inside the boat close to the bottom ( where they need to be for water intrusion ) .
I guess the real question is do they intend for you to use the pole for a source of air like the RRP. If so they missed the mark with the tubes they provided .

Use 5200 around the tubes and there's no need to run them all the way to the bottom of the hull. That's just silly. A few inches into the hull is all that you need.
i thought it was a water pressure / equilibrium thing . When the boat is up side down and breather tubes are close to the bottom ( not below the water line when up side down ) so theoretically water should not enter the hull via the breathers .
