flatwater wouldnt be entertaining enough and there are only about 10guys in the world that can surfride good enough to put on a show worthy of the xgames..not gonna happen

yea but you saw the unedited long distance version. get some surfline camera angles, maybe a chopper, drum up some suspense, and boom your watching people risk life and limb for gold.
lets compare to what they already have. ex. mx step-up. pretty danm boring without the editing and drama.

i think the only way that it could be done and actually be respected by other sports would be to do a standup heat between the surf heats they already have..let the same judges do both..that would be the cheapest and best way imo...puerto escondido would have been sick

I highly disagree... Flat water is much easier to watch from a spectators point of view... All the maneuvers are preformed right before the audience and it doesn't matter on the surf conditions.

but ghost riding your ski or riding on the hood isnt that cool to the average person.."if you dont land in the tray it's..." well you know what they say.also there is ZERO variety in flatwater..everyone does the same stuff.plus surf conditions wouldnt be a probelm if they ran it with the surf heats..they actually have waiting period so they get good conditions..hint hint

I agree. Seeing how I watch way more than I ride .......I find flat water to be just as exciting if not more than surf. Again I will say most normal everyday folks don't really care either way. I had a friend at the lake yesterday watching Parr piddle around on his ski and she was "amazed" and he was just goofing off.

what do you consider good surf riding?Again it's all a matter of opinion.

I think one thing that hurts the sport is people only thinking about a small group of people. The sport isn't going to grow until you realize that not everyone is only able to watch what you consider "the best". Different strokes for different folks. Nothing is ever going to happen if we have people choosing what other people should find fun or exciting. Again I am mainly a spectator so I have a different viewpoint.

I would be willing to bet that half of the other things I would see on the X-games would impress me but people actually in the sport would be saying the things you are saying.
