would you like some foam with your water?

i am about 2/3's through getting the foam out. using a 1/2" drill and a wire cup and its not really that bad. i got most the big stuff out before hand with a crobar.

so far knock on wood the foam is not water soaked. so i have no idea how that happened but its been nice knowing it wasn't as bad as expected.

the foam around the exhaust was soaked but not that bad any where else.

did encounter some nasty smelling shat though near the bulkhead. but the back corners were not bad at all.

i'll post some pics up later.

Long story short but I installed two ¼” npt pipe plugs for the drains in the back of the ski. Inside the ski is a ½” piece of nylon epoxied in to accept the threads for the plugs. I have left some voids in the bottom of the ski in the foam that run from side to side and to the back plugs, been this way for three years and yes I have gotten water out of them even after sealing the entire thing very carefully.
I really don’t know why people wouldn’t do this after going through all the work to refoam. I should never have to refoam again and there was just a little extra work involved.

I forgot!
i did kinda the same thing except i also installed a tire valve stem to pump air into the hull, it blows the water out and also shows where the water gets in.

I forgot!
i used it to remove the water i knew that had gotten in there and then sealed up the leaks and removed the nipple so no i don't got any pics of it, sort of a temp thing to find the leaks, it did blow out about a cup of water or so.
