Will there be a Lake Travis ride this summer?

well - since the cops are now gonna crack down on the UTV's and pit bikes - maybe it's time to look for something more...remote.

Surfside or Sargent come to mind - but if you think Crystal Beach is "quaint" - just wait till you visit those 2. :biggrin:

Yup, Sommerville was fun. Pace Bend park wasn't to shabby either. Except the jacka$$ park ranger who enforced "quiet time" at 10pm. oke:

Remote is a pretty solid comment. Why not Matagorda with no infrastructure what so ever while you're at it...lol.

I'll go wherever the LSFR is held, but I really like CB.

1. We're all very familiar with it.
2. Housing usually works out really well.
3. The 'big store' has stainless steel metric bolts and practically everything else.
4. Other than the pit bikes and UTV's, I don't think Johnny Law has been particularly harsh to us or out to get us.


Just my $.04 (devaluation of the dollar).

Lake Austin has a great camping park - Emma Long (City Park); however, the Austin ride will be happening (most likely) on Lake Travis (just barely west of Austin and only seperated by 80 ft of concrete from Lake Austin) at Pace Bend Park.

Last year, I lobbied for Lake Austin, but it turned out that Lake Travis and Pace Bend was a far superior venue for this type of event (and for jetskis in general).

I'm just hoping the final date doesn't fall anywhere in July (hint hint). That's also the month when TPWD does all of there officer training up at Pace Bend. :sneaky:
