Who's fixed steer hood is on eBay?

Hmm, I don't know whos it is but the same guy was selling the UMI X2 steering last week. I was watching it and it ended early. In the ad for the steering he had pictures of it attached to the hood and I was wondering about it. I guess he decided to sell the entire set up and not just the steering. I wonder if someone request he do that. I also wonder how well the hood will hold up. The long steering stem looks like it would need quite a bit of support under there. Anyway, I really wanted the steering for my x2. I don't have a SJ..... yet

There's no pics of the finished underside of the steering in the auction. You would also have to have some long wires & cables to put the hood in the tray.

The stock cables reach all the way to the tray ,the hood is really thick where the UMI attaches and has a couple layers of carbon fiber also .

I'll never own a pole ski again after riding this setup .

I was wondering about how he reinforced that mounting area. I am thinking of making something similar for myself.
To me, it seems there is to much angle on the steering neck...like it would be easier to ride with the steering neck farther forward on the hood and more vertical.

PS: Got the parts, Art. Thanks again.

It's reinforced with multiple layers of carbon fiber and woven cloth ,it's probably 3/8 thick all around where the UMI mounts .It rides incredibly well actually .Thats one of the complaints about the 24-7 setup is how far forward it is and how much weight is on the nose which effects the handling .
We mounted it there because the stock hood has that part already built in even though it made it harder trying to mount the steering cable stop and get the right angle for the quick steer .

For a first time project it came out really well and I will build another when the time comes and the knee is back together in one piece .
