Who can figure this out ?

Rebuilt a blaster midshaft housing with new oem bearing and seals....installed and tested it without the pump in...the shaft is heating up near the front seal after 40 sec of idle run time...shaft on coupler side is not even warm... this is why I rebuilt it, I thought the bearing was getting hot...is this the friction from the front seal causing the heat ? other skis do not heat up like this ? what is the problem ? thanks for your thoughts.... :261:

did you guys grease your housings?

I can honestly say I don't think I've ever touched my midshaft after running the ski. if it's not making noise then it's probably fine.

housing and new oem seals greased...like I said before two skis do not heat up at all on the midshaft with the same test so it makes me wonder why...and because I previously stripped both shafts...not fun....:brap:

ah, that explains it. you have and alignment problem.

you understand this is being tested without the pump installed...so it could only be motor to midshaft alignment causing the heat...it looks aligned...but I am going to put a straight edge of a motor mount shim to check it real good...
