Where should I start with this?

Yo,

I'm going to keep my white ski for the moment. It needs footholds, reinforced hull, refoaming, re-turfing, and then painted.

Mechanically it has everything I want on it, minus a girdled head, extra spark from somewhere, and timing advance. I have an aluminum pole to put on it.

Should I start with refoaming, reinforcing, or just go play xbox all winter? I'm not wanting to do all this because my skill level has somehow progressed to the point that I'll need a new paint job to take it to the next level, but because I'll be in the mountains all winter and not be able to ride.

Do the refoam, footholds first. then the reinforcing. Thos things seem to take the most time and involve resin, it gets everywhere. Paint then turf last.
Xbox all winter would be cool but then you have the same ski as last year.:banghead:

Why do you need reinforcing? you out there slamming BRs and BFs?

hold off on that unless your ******** is cracking.....pointless for someone still figuring out the basics

Why is it pointless? He is going to hae a ski laid up all winter, would he not be better off improving the ski?

Waste Land. What if the person before me flipped and rolled and threw the ski out of the back of a truck?

My ski is a 9 year old saltwater ski that I somehow broke multiple motor mounts on this summer. I dont claim to be a skilled rider, but the lakes are frozen for the winter where I'll be in Colorado. I figure it would be as good of a time as any to make improvements to my ski.

if u want to get better and fast, paint your ski first, that will give you the most improvement.

do any colors lend themselves to performance better than others? I was thinking fuscia was best, but wanted others opinions first.

I would think that brighter colors would help you gain more top end while calmer ones may help with bottom end torque. I painted my old X2 a dark blue and after that it just 'shot' out of the hole.

Its kinda like powerbands. people (rednecks) ask me all the time "duz that thing got a power band in it?" so then i tell them "my mx bike has a crossed drilled, anodized purple powerband. its much lighter than stock." im thinking of putting a powerband in my ski. lol
