I received these yamaha bedplates with a race motor i purchased. Never saw the hull, but was wondering why the moved the motor mount bolt holes.

Setback motor? Any real purpose for this?

No, he is right if you drill the hole forward it moves the motor back. I guess I could have been for some conversion and shaft length difference. Light weight coupler (smaller)?

I would say the added holes placed the engine further towards the nose of the ski for sure. Notice the couper cover mount?

I would guess better weight distribution as well. Apparently racers use lead weights up front to keep the nose planted, this would achieve a similar goal.

I do see the coupler cover mount, and it appears the holes move the engine rearward, not forward. Since the new holes are towards the coupler cover mount.

No, never mind....I need another cup of coffee.

Moves it forward, further away from the coupler.
