If you've already put your engine back on your boat and found out that your mechanic didn't use the red loctite when he installed your crankcase back. He confirmed that it's ok and I'll be fine.I really wanted to make it perfect but the enigine and everything are back on the boat and I rode it twice last week and it performed really well. So I've a delimma that should I pull the engine out now to just put the red loctine on the crank case? Or ride it as it is and check regulary for the bolts if they become loose, then just pull it out at that time?

You should never use red loctite on the bolts for the cases (or anything aluminum!), only 242 blue should be used on aluminum or else you could tear all the threads out next time those bolts are removed. If he torqued all the bolts properly you should be OK, but it would be best to loctite blue them IMO. He did glue the cases right???

Thanks for your answer. That's what he told me, if he used it, the threads are at risk of tearing next time when uninstall them. He said he tightened them properly and very confident that it'll not become loose for a long long time for sure. But he didn't glue it though

If you trusted your mechanic to build you the motor than you should trust that it will hold together if he says it is fine. Afterall you did pay him for his expertise so why doubt him?

The cases don't get glued together...they get sealed with the appropriate crankcase sealant. If he is reputable at all than he knows this and I am sure did it. As long as eveything is torqued to spec everything should hold just fine.

If it rips and hasn't failed yet than I say keep on riding it as is.
