What SJ stator coil to get?

I have a 97' SJ with a 62T case and 61X cylinder. When I took off the flywheel cover it is stamped on the inside with 6m600. I need to get a new stator coil. Which one will work? Is there somewhere I can look on my electrical system to know the differance? Is there a differance?

Here you go, you can get the part number here (or order from RIVA) and order it from local dealer, just put in a quantity and it will add it to a cart, then you can get the part number.

That is good for a new one. Not real excited about spending $400 on one. Seen some used ones on the forums and just wondering if there is a way to tell if they are the right ones? Does not appear to have the part number stamped on the stator anywhere. Will a 61X stator work?

Sorry for my lack of knowledge on this. I am trying to learn though. Hopefully some day I will get this stuff down.

Just replace the coil on the on the stator not the entire stator. How do you know the coil is bad? Did you test?

Coil cost about 45 bucks.


Post a pic of your fly wheel then we can tell you if its a 61x or 62T

I did test following the guidelines from jetskisolutions. All my problems started with having no spark at all and over the last two months my batteries (yes multiple, thinking that was the problem) will not charge. Through the tests my lighting coil failed and when I pulled my flywheel to check my timing for my incoming advent ignition I found that my pulsing coil is physically damaged. If that has not played a factor in my problems I am sure it will very soon. So, I figured that the cost to replace two coils is more then I have found multiple 61X Stator Coils (complete, in good condition) on these forums. Hopefully my logic makes sense.

Check with hot product dealer on the coils I know the lighting coil is around 45 and the pulse can't be that much

Checked with some of the Hot Product dealers. They are quoting prices of 150-170 plus shipping for the two coils together. I know I can find a complete stator for cheaper (I hope!).
