I Have finally chased all the gremlins from my new, much more powerful ski, and I cant seem to keep it from porpoising pretty bady at speed, and on the starts. What rideplates are most of you guys using? I have a set of tubbies to throw on in the offseason, which might help a little. I had a shreadmaster rideplate on my old ski and that kept it glued to the water, but i couldn't pull alot of the tricks I wanted to because it wouldnt break loose.

CP Watercraft makes a nice Carbon Ride plate Cheap, Also Toby has a really nice Carbon ride plate that is long 24/7 design that you can cut or leave long.

I run CP's on my Surf Ski & Toby's on my Carbon Jet BF hull

did you get a chance to install the hooker?.....I would recommend stock, or just cut down the one you have. however if porposing at speed is your problem you might be bettter off sticking with the one on there....and may be more of a technique problem...

I ran a stock length (it was carbon but delaminated..hence that worx being installed) and liked it....but didnt do many wide open runs....and when I did it porposed.

you might also try a shortened steering plate and flat bars...thats was going to be my next mod!

she is running like a beast, finally

my buddy races all the time, so maybe he isnt the best yardstick to gauge with, his is set up to stay hooked. The hooker was like putting a supercharger on there, this thing scoots now. I am probably going to d cut the worx one on there and try that. there was some cool looking composite one to help set up wakes on flatwater, where i do most of my riding that i may look into also.

yeah I figured the hooker would make a huge difference, the prop in there was all right...but they make ski's come alive....

I'm glad to hear the porting....etc...works well with the prop..

I know it porposed bad with a rich carb, and the old impeller...so I could only imagine now...glad its working out well for you

and yeah d-cutting will only make it worse....same with a stock length....you might want to look into what racers use for intake grates....as the 201 is great for surf....im sure there's better out there for pure hookup...I think it would be less fun to ride though....
