What is the small hose on a yam 701 pipe for?

Is it to cool the stinger? I have an aftermarket head with the 3/8 id barb on the front. Is it possible to clamp the 1/8 nipple closed on the pipe and dump the 3/8 over board?

sorry i just re-read, for some reason was thinkin you were talkin bout closing off the small one on the head, but you don't have that, have no clue what that would do?? doesn't seem like it would push enough water to do much?? soory that was no help to ya....

Yes, that will work. However, make sure you use a restrictor of some sort in the water line. You can use a 3/8" nylon spacer from a hardware store.
