What is a 96 challenger seadoo worth

Never had a seadoo since the last one blew a crank bearing but I was thinking of looking at this 96 seadoo challenger as it seems like a good price but not sure as I have never looked at jet boats. It appears to be real clean

Any idea what they are worth

What do I need to look for on these things other then compression .Any known problems.

What size motor do they have. I was told 110 hp.
It is 14.5 ft single engine listed for 13,200 in Canada

had the same one about 5 years ago, we bought it for 6500 or so then.

Yes the Challengers are 110hp the Speedsters are 135hp. Fun little jet boats.

I hope that is a typo and should read $3200...if that is indeed the price than I would say it is a good deal...been seeing them posted forsale on craigslist/kijiji lately for 5000 plus...if it is not a typo than walk away, fast!

Motor wise I beleive it is the 800cc motor...not a bad motor...just keep in mind it is a 2 stroke and is powering a signifacntly larger watercraft than the X4 hull so it will have added stress on it than in a PWC.

I personally wouldnt buy any of the seadoo boats except the ones with the MerCruiser engines. Like sombody said...that little motor is powering a boat like four times the size of the ski it was originally in. Then you pile people and icechests in it. Too much weight for the motor in my opinion. I will say they are a blast while they are running though.

The challenger is not too bad it has enough hp to get out of its own way,as long as you don't load it down with people, coolers.etc etc it will be fine, the sportster absolutely sucks and the speedsters are a blast but you have two engines which means double trouble.I personally would not touch the mecury powered Seadoo with a 10 ft pole.Thats not a bad price on that boat and look at it this way how many boats do you know of you can totally repower for $1000.00,thats right not too damn many. The 787 is as fine an engine as Seadoo ever made, damn near bulletproof it you treat it right.

if it were local to me, and I wanted one, and it were LEGAL... title in hand, trailer legit all that jazz

It would be worth about $1000 more than an sbt replacement engine would cost me.

You would have to do something really stupid to tear up a Seadoo 787,I know many here have tried their best,I have one that has been sunk about 6 times so far ,still going strong ,no comp loss,no funny noises still runs 100%,I have one a guy ran out of oil, replaced one piston and cylinder ,that was 2 years ago,I have probably rebuilt 7 of those engines ,most were customer stupidity,I have never seen one bust a case, throw a rod, break a cylinder etc etc etc.Now please go ahead and insert how reliable Yamahas are here______________________________________________.

I would have to agree now 951 are another story

I have a 02 challenger 1800, it is powered by the fuel injected 240 hp mercury. I have owned the boat for a long time and I use it a lot. I have never had a problem with it. My boat is a bit different than the one you are looking at, but for that price, I would buy it. These boats are awesome because they draft like 8 inches so you can take them anywhere and easily beach them without worrying about your prop.
